Daniel Dummer

CEO

Daniel founded Youth Decide to bring hands-on voting experiences to students so they can build skills and confidence to participate in democracy. Previously he led the Pathfinder Program at Art of Smart Education, co-writing the book, The New University Entry Game. He also worked for two federal MPs, and co-founded Speaking Schools Australasia. In his spare time, he plays tennis and volunteers on the board of Beecroft Rotary.

Jessica leads the Operations Team at Youth Decide, coordinating people and resources so that all activities run smoothly. She is in her first year studying a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) / Bachelor of International Relations at the Australian National University. She has facilitated Youth Decide workshops since she was in Year 10.

She is also an accomplished civics workshop facilitator and has played a key role in Youth Decide events, including Democracy in Dialogue. She has appeared on panels including at Western Sydney Women and been quoted on youth issues in the media. Afsana is in her second year studying a Bachelor of Law / Bachelor of Communications (Writing and Publishing) at the University of Technology, Sydney. Her writing has been shortlisted in the Whitlam Institute's "What Matters" competition.

Kaitlyn is a legal and public affairs student and education leader with a strong focus on civic education, youth empowerment and inclusive learning. As Director of Education, Kaitlyn leads the development of accessible, curriculum-aligned programs introducing young people to voting, democratic institutions and policy participation. Kaitlyn is also the founder of Dreamscape Tutelage, an inclusive education intiative through which she has supported 200+ students through tailored academic programs, with a particular focus on working with differently-abled learners and students requiring individualised support. Her broader experience spans legislative research and speechwriting in the NSW Parliament, youth journalism with Hills Sydney Digital Magazine, media leadership with United Nations youth organisations, board-level governance with a state-based rescue charity, and founding the University of Technology Sydney's only non-partisan political society dedicated to international and domestic affairs. She is completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Growing up in South West Sydney, he saw how empowering young people with knowledge and opportunities can transform communities. Lachlan has also been inspired by his grandfather, whose decades of tireless community service taught him the value of dedication and giving back.
